His interest in social justice and love for community work has lead him to serve as board members of “We Are All Brooklyn”, Community Board #17, Empower Charter School and CUSH. Gilford resides in Brooklyn, New York, with his soul mate and wife, Dianne, their daughter, Gianne and son, Joshua.
